Ambassadors
James Packer
Shane Warne has put smiles on our faces with his legendary and outstanding performances for Australia playing cricket, and in the art of legspin bowling, he is peerless. Since his Ashes debut against England, he has revitalised the game and changed the way it is played forever.
When Shane phoned me last year to tell me the great news about his Foundation, I had no hesitation in becoming a founding Ambassador. I believe that Shane has the ability to capture the hearts and minds of the Australian public, and having a Foundation that will help seriously ill and underprivileged children is simply an extension of what he already does in this field. He regularly visits hospitals and organisations that devote their time, resources and expertise to these children. The ideals of the Shane Warne Foundation sum up the man very well: he is never afraid of a challenge and is prepared to ask others to assist him in his endeavours. I urge everyone to get behind Shane to make a difference.

When Shane asked me to be an Ambassador for his Foundation, he showed yet again that there are an infinite number of ways that Shane expresses his individuality. We all know Shane, the swash-buckling sporting hero, but the fact that he’s prepared to provide his time, money and commitment to such a great cause as supporting kids and kids charities shows the true character of the man. With the establishment of the Shane Warne Foundation, Shane will give kids the chance to admire him in a new capacity – as the founder of a Foundation that will, I hope, allow hundreds if not thousands of kids to live a betterlife. Good luck to you Shane and the Foundation.

I first met Shane Warne the day before the now infamous Test Match at The Oval in 2005. It was the mark of the man I am now proud to call a friend, that he came to support the BGC Charity Day in London. The impression he left was remarkable, and not one of my staff will forget the day he came in to the office. His charisma, generosity and spirit are there for all to see.
It is my honour to accept Shane’s invitation to become an ambassador to his Foundation – how could I say no? As one of the world’s legendary sportsmen, he is aware that he has the ability to create a lasting legacy that will help underprivileged and sick children. Shane believes it is his responsibility to make a difference, so it is a real pleasure to support Shane in this quest. Although I am based in London, I will make it my business to be in regular contact, and look forward to playing a small part in helping the Foundation grow.

Shane Warne is a special friend of mine. We are in regular contact and he always manages to put a smile on my face – especially after a round of golf, when I have won! Shane is an exceptional individual who is capable of anything. When he told me his dream of creating a Foundation that would assist seriously ill and underprivileged children, I gladly put my hand up to be a founding Ambassador of The Shane Warne Foundation. I could not think of too many people in this country that have the potential to make an impact and, hopefully, a difference to those children that need it
most. All the best to Shane and his team at The Shane Warne Foundation.
