Shane Warne, Chairman
The Shane Warne Foundation is very close to my heart and I am very passionate about this cause. TSWF has been established since 2004 and since that time we have made a huge difference to the lives of many courageous children who suffer an illness or who are underprivileged. The reason I wanted to do this and get involved was because, over the past 20 years, I have met so many brave kids out there, trying to come to terms with whatever it is they might be suffering from, and trying to fight it. Unfortunately, some cannot and it’s heartbreaking to see these beautiful children struggling.
Although I can make a difference on my own, it is only a small difference compared to what a team of people can do together. Every little bit counts, and every single person can help to make that difference. TSWF has directly contributed over $2.4 million to more than 70 different children’s charities across Australia and to several individual families who have been in a necessitous circumstance.
I am extremely touched when I see people giving generously, whether it be their time, or by way of a donation to help TSWF enrich the lives of the seriously ill and underprivileged children in Australia.
Team up with me to help the kids.

Children are a blessing. They are treasures that need to be nurtured, cared for, loved and appreciated for every little breath, every little movement. As soon as I became a mother, my outlook on assisting others in need, moved from caring to being deeply moved at the many cases of suffering in our community. To see someone – anyone, from the young, adult or elderly – suffer from a debilitating disease can be an emotional experience.
To see a small child, a baby, a toddler or a tearaway youngster have breath sucked out of them is crushing. To enable some children to have a slightly better life, I chose to put energy, time and passion into raising awareness and funds for a range of charities that the Shane Warne Foundation will assist.
I am extremely honoured to have been asked to join the Board of the Shane Warne Foundation. I strongly believe that if anyone can help turn some children’s lives around, raise funds for better facilities, medical research and the like, it is Shane Warne – one of our greatest sportsmen ever. His triumphs on the field, and his devotion to helping causes, can lead the Board and people everywhere to try just that little bit harder.

The cause of helping those children in our community who are in need is obviously a vital one. After seeing how passionate Shane and his team are to this cause, and the extent to which the Foundation makes a difference for so many children, it was an honour to be asked to join the Board.
For those of us who have had a happy childhood, or who have healthy and happy children of our own, it is very easy to forget that this is not the case for so many children. There are many children who, due to poverty, illness, abuse, or other challenges, don’t get the start in life that the rest of us take for granted. The task for all of us at the Foundation is to help as many children in need as we can.

It was an honor to be asked to become a board member, having witnessed first-hand the wonderful work done by the Shane Warne Foundation.
It has always appealed to me that the focus of the Foundation is to support children’s charities. For me, there is nothing more enchanting than the sound of children’s laughter. I read recently that children laugh over 300 times a day and adults only 15. What do we learn from that? As adults, we have the responsibility to keep that laughter happening and perhaps to remember to laugh a bit more ourselves.
I believe the foundation will do everything it can to continue to put smiles on children’s faces, and it makes me very proud to be part of that ongoing effort.

Shane and his team have done a remarkable job creating a foundation that supports so many children and teenagers. I am particularly pleased to be part of a unique organisation that reaches out through so many worthwhile charitable and corporate events.
