Beneficiary Visit 2010
Glenn Robbins recently visited one of The Shane Warne Foundation’s 2010 beneficiaries; Scope (VIC) Ltd and was fortunate enough to witness four children taking steps for the first time, with the revolutionary Hart Walker.
Coinciding with National Cerebral Palsy Awareness Week, the children were each fitted with a Hart Walker, which is a specially designed walking frame developed by British engineer David Hart. The Hart Walker has over 1000 moving parts and offers independence for children with Cerebral Palsy. T
The walking frames were provided by GoKids, the Children’s Mobility Advisory Service for Scope. TSWF donated $30,000 towards the required funding to provide children with this revolutionary product.
Glenn Robbins, TSWF Director, was there to see Oscar receive his walker on the day and take his first steps and was genuinely moved by the moment,
“It’s a privilege isn’t it; to be able to see those kids taking those first steps, it’s a touching moment.” Glenn Robbins
Our mission at The Shane Warne Foundation (TSWF) is to raise funds to help “enrich the lives of seriously ill and underprivileged children and teenagers in Australia”.
As an umbrella organisation, TSWF achieves this by supporting a diverse cross section of charities that work ‘hands on’ and so effectively handle the day to day needs of these brave children.
We are proud to say we have now made over 100 distributions totalling over $3 million to more than 70 separate charities.
We accept submissions from charities in dire need of facilities, services and the myriad of other requirements that are a constant need for the care of seriously ill and underprivileged children – the list is endless. Our board selects the beneficiaries annually, making a collective decision based on how the funds we have available can best be utilised to make an explicit difference.
