A written letter to Shane
Hi Shane,
My name is Jesse and I am 9 years old and I have Type 1 Diabetes.
Thanks to Dr Goss and The Shane Warne Foundation on the 17th of March I received an insulin pump. And I LOVE it!! The best thing about it is NO MORE NEEDLES!!
I feel alot better because my blood sugar levels are alot lower than they were before pump. I don’t have to eat if I am not hungry, which means Mum and Dad are not nagging at me like they were!I enjoy playing footy with my mates and I have joined Auskick this year which is alot of fun!
Last year I did Milo cricket, but this summer I will be old enough to be in an under 13’s cricket team which I am really excited about! I love bowling, and I practise mostly on my legspin and fast pace, so if you have any tips for me,that would be great! My other love is fishing and now that I have my pump, I can go out with Dad in the boat alotmore, which really makes me happy!! Thankyou for making my life as normal as possible!!
