The Boxing Day Breakfast has been an event held in Melbourne to celebrate the Ashes. Most guests who attend the breakfast would go to the MCG to enjoy the Boxing Day Test. Past Boxing Day Breakfasts have featured a panel of guests, as well as players participating in the match that day. They discuss the upcoming test and cricket in general, providing guests with an insight into world class cricket, the highs and lows, jubilation and disappointment of the game we all love.
The Boxing Day Breakfast also gives guests an opportunity to bid on some amazing live and silent auction items. So far we’ve given away a number of priceless items and experiences, including a half-hour session with Shane Warne in the MCG nets; dinner with Joe Hachem and Shane Warne, followed by a game of poker in a private salon at Crown; a table at the Grand Final Footy Show, as well as drinks with the team for the winner and seven friends; backyard cricket at Warnie’s house; a VB Gold Box and Superbat from the VB commercials; a Rolling Stones guitar; fly fishing with Rob Sitch and Tom Gleisner; a day in the coach’s box with Kevin Sheedy – and many more!
The Boxing Day Breakfast is now held every four years when the Ashes are played on home soil.
