Boxing Day Breakfast 2010

The Shane Warne Foundation (TSWF) finished 2010 in style through the Boxing Day Breakfast.

As in previous years, there were many cricketing legends on hand to entertain the guests with their cricketing insights as well as reliving some of the humorous moments throughout their careers.

Michael Clarke and Phil Hughes made time to drop in for a chat with our Chairman, Shane Warne. Considering it was the morning of the biggest day of cricket on the calendar, it was extremely generous of them.

Ian Healy, Mark Taylor, Merv Hughes and Michael Vaughan then joined Shane on stage and created many laughs with their banter. In between giving insights into what the teams will need to do to win the series, they all delved into their treasure chest of experiences and shared some gold.

From a rarely heard beer by beer account of Boony setting his 53 can record to Merv’s numerous conversations with the team dietician to the English Teams antics after they won the Ashes in 2005, there were some truly hilarious moments.

We are very appreciative of everyone donating their time, thank you.

Leo Sayer and Mark Andrew provided the musical entertainment and were sensational, as was Jason Richardson as the Emcee, thank you too.

However, the highlight of the day was the extremely inspirational Matt Thiele.

Matt is a burns survivor and receives support from one of TSWF’s beneficiaries, Kids Foundation. He spoke about his story and how the Kids Foundation has helped him as well as how TSWF have helped to make it possible.

He is an amazing boy. We hope he achieves all of his dreams and aspirations.

We would also like to thank our sponsors Etihad Airways, Crown, Dig Creative, VB, Triple M and GEON for making such a great day possible.
