The Inaugural 2009 Shane Warne Foundation Footy Finals Luncheon was a huge success!
Guests were delighted by the day and everyone dug deep to raise over $100,000 to help improve the lives of sick and underprivileged kids in Australia. Shane was there and joined by his Footy Show mates Garry Lyon (MC extraordinaire), James Brayshaw, Sam Newman, Bill Brownless and Craig Hutchison. Dermott Brereton joined the boys as a surprise guest and made the prediction that Adam Goodes was a strong Brownlow contender! The boys made for a captivating panel and the overall prediction saw the Saints v the Pies in the Grand Final.
The live auction comprised of only 3 items yet raised close to $30,000. Guests were so generous in their contributions of both individual donations and the purchase of raffle tickets.
One of the day’s highlights was undoubtedly the stellar performance by Year 12 student Carlos Sila a former beneficiary of TSWF. He performed “I’m Yours” by Jason Moraz and received a standing ovation leading to an encore performance!
